Metaphysical devotees know that this primal, singular, ubiquitous energy is conscious, aware of itself and seeking to 'know' itself, to experience itself from an infinite arrangement of perspectives. Every molecular element, sentient being; human or otherwise and organic substance is a reflection of the singularity of conscious energy. Everything is a reflection of 'The One'. This is where the concepts of God arise and beliefs structures like religion are founded. Those are simple efforts to understand ourselves and our environment. But, they externalize the experience, a remembrance of our connection to the primal energy that resides in us...as us and everything we encounter.
There is one Universe with infinite avenues of experiencing itself. Fourth-fifth-and sixth and beyond dimensional realities are not some future portals of experiences, they are present now...those have been present forever. Those higher dimensions are not 'coming to us' . No, our experience of reality is rising to those higher dimensions. Humanity is awakening to the presence of gateways to higher and deeper experiences of itself and others. Alan Watts expresses this beautifully here. Every event in human history is happening now, every future potentiality is happening now. We're simply choosing with our present decisions which future event we desire, often we're choosing blindly...habitually...neurotically even. But that examination is a whole other blog post.
The history of human conscious awareness is cyclical, not linear. Understand that there is no "in the beginning"...conscious energy (us) always existed. What do you think 'eternal' means? Creation stories are simply feeble attempts by a limited human mind to understand it's existence. To truly comprehend existence we have to go past mind...All timeless spiritual practices are efforts to go past mind, to feel our core essence and tap into the eternal well spring of pure energy. Yoga, Tai Chi, numerous meditation techniques, some prayers and mantras all work to achieve a divine silence, a nothingness. Not nothing as in empty; nothingness related to attachment and ego identity. Allowing our selves to let go for a while. To simply be. We then are able to re-inhabit our ego identities with a deeper, more peaceful 'at oneness'. Silent stillness can be achieved even in our daily routine. However, I highly recommend setting aside some time each day for intentional silent-still being and breathing. Inhabiting a regular (daily if possible) spiritual practice will allow one to eventually re-connect to the primal conscious, eternal energy that is the universe.
You're not 'going anywhere', you're not becoming something else...you're remembering who you are at the foundation of your being. Don't worry about your chakras, 3rd eyes or auras, salvation and such. Let those take care of themselves. You don't consciously beat your own heart...As Alan Watts so eloquently says - "you don't consciously work your thyroid gland". Let go of the ego based human need to micromanage our beings. Tap into source energy and let it be the operator. You sit back and enjoy your experience.
For those who may be seeking an entry into mystical practices I highly recommend this site of my friend and guide Dr. Alexander Riegal.
