They’re called on as Aja, Oshun, Oya and Yemoja of the African tradition. Named Isis, Bestet and Ma-at of the Kemetic cosmology (ancient Egyptian). Honored as Devi and Kali of the Hindu tradition, the Native American goddess expressions of Atira and Maja. Ancient European pagan traditions call her Gaia, the personification of mother earth. The names are literally infinite. As endless as the spirit of God, the divine mother.
For millennia she has been virtually invisible, ignored, overshadowed, by masculine gods of war, acquisition and retribution. Jehovah's jealously, Allah's aloofness, Brahma's enigmatic stoicism and the heavenly father of Jesus' duplicitous, vengeful nature, has humanity precariously on the brink of violent global catastrophe.
Men's role in the family is expanding also, even if they're the primary breadwinner. Men are becoming more adept at child-rearing, hearth keepers. The role of homemaker is becoming a team effort, as is the role of bread-winner.
This dawning outward shift, expansion of gender roles are not one-dimensional occurrences. They are born of a much deeper evolutionary shift in humanity.
There is much resistance. Many people, especially men, liked things the way they were. Masculine, authoritarian gods, who will send one to eternal damnation for 'disobedience'. Those that resist this balancing flow are living in illusion.
The emerging sacred feminine sees human beings as extensions of 'God', not as children or possessions of God. That idea distinction alone is revolutionary. It sends one looking deeper inside themselves for spiritual/emotional understanding. Religions are a viable framework for navigating this life. However, religion can be blinding, constrictive shackles, especially the Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
The emerging sacred feminine allows humanity to manifest the wholeness of life's experience. Men embracing their sacred feminine, will still be men, more complete men. Women allowing their masculine aspects to emerge will still be women, just more so.
mothers, with hair tangled
tighter than their theology
and breasts that flowed milk
and mystic wisdom. they
knew how to draw the singing
sigils in the sand, how to dig
rough and bitten fingers
into desiccated dirt for water
to wet the lips of their young.
women of hips and heft, who
learned how to burn
beneath the wild and searing
sun, who made loud love
against the star-flecked threat
of night, who knew that strength is not always a matter of muscle. imagine your ancestresses, the prophetesses of the arid lands, before these starched traditions and pews too hard to pray from, who bled true ritual and birthed their own fierce
souls at creation's crowning --” ~ Beth Morey
The collective of humanity will have to refuse to be ruled by these fearful men. It's happening as we speak. The fearful male ego is desperately acting out, trying to hold its primacy. What they're doing now are the last acts of desperation. The emergent new world has reached its due date. Just as a baby in the womb is conscious of its mother's breathing...we can collectively hear her breathing. Birth is a turbulent process. As birthing mothers know...just relax, push in a timely manner and breathe through it.
