The middle ground between light and shadow, the boundary of matter and energy. The nexus of individual being and universal consciousness. The intangible space where all potentials exist waiting to be materialized. This is field of being where mystics work, that dwelling place between spirit and mind, the ancient mystics charted before the mass induced hypnosis in the form of religion and human cultural conformity put the masses to sleep. The sorrowful, but necessary, stage in human evolution that dictated community should be hierarchical and that material creation is mechanical, machine like, ceramic, just lifeless matter to be exploited where possible or discarded when desired.
Quantum Physics and Consciousness
Dr. Amit Goswami states "consciousness is the ground of being". Goswami doesn't limit consciousness to simply human consciousness. The study of quantum physics is discovering the all of matter is directly energy that has coalesced into material three dimensional expression in the physical plane. Alan Watts has a succinct explanation of this concept, while highlighting the unfortunate fragmentation of science, spirituality and philosophy. The fields of science, spirituality and philosophy are constantly at odds with each other in their separate attempts to discern the nature of reality. In actuality the nature of reality can only be understood by those who encompass the scientific method, a philosophical approach and a spiritual attitude to their seeking. They are not mutually exclusive, they are essential components to conscious understanding.
I cannot deal with the whole of quantum physics in a blog post, as much as I find this subject captivating. This link is a deeper exploration of this fascinating subject. I want to apply the principles to the specific subject of ones consciousness shaping ones reality. Quantum theory gave us an invaluable understanding of how our conscious thoughts shape the world we live in. Einstein explained in his general theory of relativity that matter and energy are one, that matter is energy frozen in time and space. Quantum physics tells us that past the atomic level, smaller than the mind can comprehend, particles that comprise smaller particles, which comprise the minuscule units that are atoms, behave like both particles (matter) and waves (energy) at the same time. Additionally these infinitely small particles behave in a manner congruent with the consciousness of the observer.
Amazing! These particles behave differently according to if they're being observed or not. This includes even technological observation with no humans present. As discovered in the double-slit experiment.
That would imply an energetic connection between subject and observer wouldn't it?
Yes it would...and not only that...those particles reflecting their observer have been theorized to do that universally, not just locally. That would imply that space is not an empty vacuum, but a fabric that connects all things. Everything in the universe has an effect on everything else, it exists not only as an entity unto itself, but as a relational component to the whole and consciousness is the arbiter of it's nature. Which brings me back to my original point.
Science's focus on materialism ignores the spiritual connectivity of all things, the unbreakable bond of energy and matter, the one mind we all share effects everything. Our individual perceptions effect the universal mind, the fabric of universal being, consciousness. We are the whole in our individuality, yet we can't be without the connection to that whole. Every hologram contains the whole in it's being, a hologram is comprised of light and cannot exist without the light. The light is comprised of particles of matter that behave like waves of energy, while also performing in concert with the consciousness of their observer.
Let us see past the cultural meme that we are simply animals with higher developed brains, that's an insult to animals. Seriously, we are the very consciousness of creation, composed of the very matter and energy of the creator. Where we're failing as citizens of the universe is that we don't see everything and everyone else in the same light.
Know that what you observe, no matter what it is...a tree, another person, a stray dog or a heinous crime reported on the news. Know that your consciousness about that thing is effecting the fabric of being for everyone and everything. Your behavior in relation to your environment and others affects the fabric of the universe. Know scientific discovery that isn't bonded to a philosophical discipline and a spiritual (not necessarily religious), seeking is like trying to explore a beautiful house by standing outside on the lawn.
